December 29, 2011, Golden, BC: Kicking Horse Mountain Resort announced today the successful sale of the resort to Resorts of the Canadian Rockies from Ballast Nedam the initial owner and developer of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Golden Pedestrian Bridge 10th Anniversary

The Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge in Golden BC celebrated its tenth anniversary on Sat Oct 22.

The construction of the bridge was a catalyst for the revitalisation of the downtown core and remains a popular attraction for both tourist and locals alike.

The Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge at 8th Ave North, spans the river of the same name at 46 meters (151 feet) across. It is the longest free standing timber frame bridge in Canada and originally was planned as a community event in 2001 when over 100 members of the Timber Framers Guild came from the US, Europe and all over Canada to help raise the bridge.
